're following this hour, slow pace of storm recovery efforts in the northeast. 12 days after sandy, some residents saying they are not receiving any help from fema or even the red cross. with such widespread devastation residents are dealing without basic services. that before the storm they took for granted. >> no water. no heat. no lights, garbage not being picked up. garbage, halfway. garbage thrown everywhere. smell. the environment out here is terrible as far as smelling. odor is horrendous. it's depressing. >> gregg: anna is covering this live at staten island. >> we are 300 yards from the water at one of six dumping stations around staten island. we have been watching this debris pile up for two weeks in the nor'easter that hit last week. it did slow the crews. it's quite an active scene behind me today. a sign of progress being made. that is good sign. also hundreds of volunteers piled into buses at city hall this morning with their own tools and shovels helping out super storm sandy victims. volunteers sorting goods going house to house and cleaning up parks. groups are leaving

now. megyn: fox news alert tempers flaring at hurricane sandy's victims face yet another day of waiting for help as forecasters warn of a possible nor'easter that may hit an already devastated east coast. welcome to "america live," i'm megyn kelly on a busy friday between politics and sandy. nearly 4 million americans spending a fourth day without any power, many of them told they will have to wait for weeks for it to be restored, and it's getting cold here in the northeast. staten island, new york one of the hardest hit communities, people there boiling in anger over what they say has been a slow to nonexistent relief effort in places. more than 80,000 people are in the dark, many are homeless because of situations like the one you see on your screen now, and 19 people have died because of the storm. supplies and patience are running out in new york and new jersey, look at these lines and imagine yourself in one. drivers that can actually find an open gather station dealing with a back up that stretches for miles. we are being told 60 to 70% of a lot of the gas stations are

without power two weeks after hurricane sandy slammed into the northeast. they're not the only ones suffering. folks in new york city usually head to coney island to line up for music park -- amusement park rides but now they're lining up just to get something to eat. jonathan hunt is there. jonathan, how is it going? >> reporter: extraordinary to see scenes like this in 20th century america. some people have just trying to get the basics of life. they're picking up canned goods over here. over here we have well, military-style meals ready to eat. gatorade bottles, cases of water. and everything is numbered. they're allowed to take two canned goods. one gatorade. up to a case of water and then there is laundry detergent further down there as well. a lot of these people live in the project buildings behind me, rick, where they have been struggling to get by for two weeks now since hurricane sandy hit. i have to say the spirit we found among most of the people here, while they acknowledge their difficulty they're all determined to push through. listen. >> we don't have any electricity

"time" magazine is reporting that petraeus's biographer turned mistress once toyed with entering politics. she reportedly told acquaintances backing in jul that will gop "money men" had approached her about a senate run from north carolina. she says she was "tempted."
